When I packed up and left the stage of London’s 12-Bar Club in October 2003, I needed a break. After 2 albums and 2 EPs, it was time to take stock, lie low, consider my next move. For a few months at least, maybe a year.

I never imagined it would be 20 years.

The 12-Bar Club was bulldozed (metaphorically) in 2015 to make way for the Elizabeth Line. But its soul remains on Denmark Street, part of the fabric of London’s music history, along with the ghosts of the Marquee, Borderline and Astoria. I guess like the best memories, music never grows old.

So I’ve taken stock, I've lain low - and now I’m back.
